Removal and installation of a head of cylinders

Engine 111

As the specified work demands existence of certain experience, the description only of basic provisions necessary for work of the skilled mechanic is provided.


Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the air filter (2), depending on engine model, together with executive body for the circulating gate.
2. Remove the top cover of the engine (7/11).
3. Uncover a head of cylinders, address appropriate section.
4. Remove an air inlet.
5. Models with AT: Disconnect the vacuum pipeline at the electric vacuum pump. At the same time squeeze both brackets of the lock and extend the pipeline. Disconnect the taking-away pipe from the vacuum pipeline.
6. Remove a collar of the pipeline of recirculation of the fulfilled gases from the holder. Remove the switching valve from the holder. At the same time disconnect two vacuum lines from the gate. Then disconnect the holder from the inlet pipeline.
7. Models with AT: Remove the directing pipe of the index of level of oil of the transmission about an eye.
8. Remove the fuel distributive highway with injectors.
9. Turn off bolts of fastening and remove the inlet pipeline from a head of cylinders. Disconnect a vacuum hose of the valve of recirculation. Take away the inlet pipeline from a head of cylinders and fix it with the attached wires in a motive compartment.
10. Remove the air-channel of removal of crankcase gases from a head of cylinders.

11. Disconnect ventilating hoses of the engine (1) under flange connection of the inlet pipeline and a head of cylinders.

12. Take off maple a compressor drive belt, address appropriate section.
13. Remove the soaking-up and forcing compressor branch pipes.
14. Remove the compressor.
15. Lift and install the car on supports. Remove facing of a motive compartment from below.
16. Merge cooling liquid, address the Section Replacement of Cooling Liquid - general comments.
17. Disconnect a reception pipe of system of production of the fulfilled gases from a final collector. Disconnect the holder of a pipe at the transmission. Lower system of release a little and fix it by a wire or a connector of a cable.
18. Remove a pipe of recirculation of the fulfilled gases from the block of cylinders. Remove holders of a pipe of recirculation behind a head of cylinders on the right and at the left.
19. Remove a hose of cooling liquid of a heater. For this purpose wring out a bracket so that it was recorded. After that take out the pipeline of cooling liquid.
20. Install the piston of the first cylinder in situation 20 ° after VMT. For this purpose turn a bent shaft for a pulley in the direction of rotation of the engine so that the mark 20 ° on a pulley coincided with a mark in a distribution mechanism casing cover. In this situation cams of the first cylinder of the camshaft of inlet valves and the camshaft of final valves have to stand at an angle up.
21. Remove the thermostat case, address the Section Removal and installation of the thermostat.

22. Remove a forward cover (3). For this purpose turn out 2 bolts of fastening (1) on both sides of a forward cover (3). Bolts have diameter of a carving of 8 mm, besides behind a cover there are directing plugs. Turn out bolts (2) (diameter of a carving of 6 mm) and uncover (3). Pay attention to existence of the interfaced ring between a cover and a head of cylinders. Clear the interfaced surfaces.

23. Mark with paint of a gear wheel of camshafts in relation to a chain.
24. Remove a natyazhitel of a chain, address appropriate section.

25. Remove the top guide of sliding. For this purpose pull out for a carving a finger of a guide (1) by means of the shock device for an extract (2) or any other suitable tool. For this purpose provide sliding of freight adaptation in relation to an emphasis.

26. Remove a gear wheel of the camshaft of final valves. When unscrewing bolts hold the camshaft from a provorachivaniye for a hexagon.
27. Turn off bolts of fastening of a cover of the bearing of the camshaft of inlet valves. Turn off bolts in stages. Put bolts so that they could be established on former places.
28. Remove a chain of the drive of the camshaft of inlet valves from an asterisk.
29. Take out the camshaft of inlet valves.
30. Take out a finger of the left guide.
31. Turn off bolts of fastening and uncover a gas distribution mechanism casing a head of cylinders.
32. Weaken bolts of fastening of a cover of a head of cylinders on the cold engine in the sequence, the return to their fixing, then turn out bolts.

33. Measure length of bolts of M12 of fastening of a head of cylinders. Length of new bolts makes L = 102 mm. After each inhaling length of bolts increases. With a length of 106 mm and more bolts it is necessary to replace. At the same time it is recommended to apply only new bolts.

34. By means of the assistant remove a head of cylinders.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Installation is carried out in the sequence, the return to removal. At the same time it is necessary to observe the following:

1. Clear the contact plane a head of cylinders and the block of cylinders and check existence of cracks and roughnesses. Clear carving openings.
2. Establish into place new sealing laying.

3. Establish a head of cylinders so that the directing plugs in the block of cylinders entered openings in a head of cylinders. At installation of a head of cylinders you monitor the provision of guides.

The inhaling of bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders should be carried out with special care. Before an inhaling it is necessary to check the accuracy of a dynamometer key. On the set corner it is possible to apply an angular washer to simplification of an inhaling of bolts, for example, of HAZET 6690. Not to load a dynamometer key with the big moment, the angular washer has to be applied together with a rigid key.


If the angular washer is unavailable, make assessment of an angle of rotation of a key. For this purpose put a rigid key so that the handle of a key stood along the engine, and turn a key for once so that the handle became perpendicularly to the engine.

Specifications of a head of cylinders are provided in Specifications.

4. Oil a carving and a basic surface of heads of bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders and tighten in the established sequence with 1 on 10 at first to a prileganiye to a head of cylinders, and then the moments specified in Specifications:

5. Slightly oil basic surfaces of heads of new bolts of fastening (A) of a head of cylinders to a cover of the case of the mechanism of gas distribution and screw bolts. Tighten bolts the specified moment.
6. Grease with Omnifit FD 3041 sealant before installation a guide finger. Fix a guide from above by the moment of 10 Nanometers.
7. Install the camshaft of inlet valves. Grease the compensating elements and installation sites of bearings. Lay a shaft so that cams of the first cylinder stood at an angle up.

At long operation of the engine check an axial side play of the camshaft in the adjusting bearing. Check a side play of camshafts, if necessary adjust.

8. Install the camshaft of inlet valves on the former place and evenly tighten fastening bolts (danger of damage of a shaft). Bearings of the camshaft have numbering with 1 on 10, since the party of the camshaft of inlet valves. Fix a cover of bearings in stages with a step to one turn, finally tighten the moment 21 Nanometer.
9. Tighten bolts of fastening of a gear wheel of the camshaft of final valves new bolts the moment of 20 Nanometers. Then tighten bolts on a corner 60 °.
10. Grease the interfaced surfaces of a forward cover (3) on a head of cylinders with sealant, for example, of "Omnifit FD 3041".
11. Insert behind a cover the directing plugs for two bolts (1) (diameter of a carving of 8 mm). Establish a new sealing ring for cooling liquid and put into place a cover.
12. Tighten bolts (1) on both sides the moment of 25 Nanometers, bolts (2) (diameter of a carving of 6 mm) the moment of 10 Nanometers.
13. Check existence of damages of a hose of cooling liquid of a heater before installation, if necessary replace hoses. Replace a sealing ring on a supply of cooling liquid.
14. Fix a pipe of system of recirculation of the fulfilled gases with new sealing rings on the block of cylinders.
15. Fix a reception pipe of system of release on a final collector by new bolts the moment of 20 Nanometers.

Replace rivet nuts in a collector. For this purpose screw an auxiliary bolt by hand in a rivet nut and blows to a head of a bolt beat out a rivet nut. Involve a new rivet nut with a bolt under a raschekanka and tighten the moment 30 Nanometers.

16. Fix the holder of a reception pipe on the transmission by the moment 20 Nanometers.

17. Fix the inlet pipeline (2) with new sealing laying (1) on a head of cylinders the moment of 20 Nanometers.

Previously clear the interfaced surfaces.

18. Establish into place an air inlet, having checked a sealing ring. If necessary, replace a ring.
