Removal and installation of a brake disk

For achievement of uniform bilateral braking brake disks have to have identical frictional surfaces concerning their appearance and a roughness. Therefore it is necessary to replace or pierce both brake disks of one axis.

If brake disks need to be replaced or pierced, it is at the same time necessary to establish new brake shoes.


Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Mark with paint the provision of wheels concerning naves. It will allow to establish at assembly the balanced wheels in their former situation. Weaken bolts of fastening of a wheel before a car poddomkrachivaniye. Lift the car, put it on supports and remove wheels.

Lifting operation and installations of the car on supports is connected with danger! Therefore before carrying out operation study Poddomkrachivaniye's Section and towage of Introduction to the management.

2. Remove brake shoes, address appropriate section.
3. Remove a support, address appropriate section.

The brake hose does not need to be removed.

4. Suspend a support so that the brake hose was not twisted and was not exposed to stretching.
5. For an exception of a vyskalzyvaniye of the brake piston clamp wooden whetstone between the piston and a support.

6. Brake of a back wheel: Completely release the parking brake. Unscrew the adjusting device of a parking drum brake back. For this purpose enter the screw-driver through a carving opening for bolts of fastening of a wheel. Right wheel: Turn the screw-driver an adjusting gear wheel (1) from below up. Left wheel: Turn the screw-driver an adjusting gear wheel (1) from top to down.

7. Turn out the lock screw (1) and remove a brake disk (2) from a nave.

Remove strongly sitting brake disk from a nave easy blows of the plastic hammer or by means of a stripper.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. In the presence of a rust on a flange of a brake disk and a nave of a forward wheel remove them.
2. New brake disks: Remove a disk sheeting by means of a rag and a thinner.
3. Brake of a back wheel: If the disk which was in work is established, wipe a surface of a brake shoe of the parking brake and visually check it. Check ease of the course of the razzhimny lock of brake shoes of the parking brake.
4. Establish a brake disk on a nave and fix by the new self-stopped bolt. Tighten the lock screw the moment of 10 Nanometers.
5. Brake of a back wheel: Adjust the brake mechanism. For this purpose enter the screw-driver through a carving opening of bolts of fastening of a wheel. Right wheel: Turn the screw-driver an adjusting gear wheel (1) from top to down. Left wheel: Turn the screw-driver an adjusting gear wheel from below up. Rotate an adjusting gear wheel until brake shoes do not lie down to a disk and the back wheel does not stop rotating. After that slowly turn an adjusting gear wheel back so that the wheel could rotate freely. You watch that the gear wheel on right and on the left side of a wheel was turned off back on identical number of teeths.
6. Establish into place a support, address appropriate section.
7. Establish a brake shoe, address appropriate section.
8. Establish into place wheels so that the marks put at removal coincided. Previously grease with a thin layer of bearing lubricant the aligning wheel disk belt on a nave. Do not grease bolts of fastening of wheels. Replace rusty bolts. Wrap bolts. Lower the car on wheels and tighten bolts cross-wise the moment of 110 Nanometers.

Check that the brake hose of a forward brake did not concern a wheel at the maximum angle of rotation of a steering wheel.

Several times, strongly press a brake pedal until notable resistance is felt. Thus brake shoes adjoin to a disk and hold the working position.

9. Brake of a back wheel: Several times tighten the parking brake and check its adjustment. If it is necessary, adjust a brake, address the Section of Check of the brake system. Adjustment of the parking brake.
10. New brake shoes carefully earn extra. For this purpose several times slow down the car from the speed of 80 km/h to the speed of 40 km/h, slightly pressing a brake pedal. Between braking let's a brake be cooled. The first 200 km of the movement do not apply needlessly strong braking of the car.

After installation of their new brake shoes it is necessary to earn extra. At the same time you monitor surely a road situation. During movement along the route avoid the first 200 km of unnecessary braking.

Carry out reliability control:

· Whether brake hoses are fixed?
· Whether the brake hose is fixed in the holder?
· Whether unions for removal of air are tightened?
· Whether enough brake fluid is filled in?
· On the working engine check tightness. For this purpose press a brake pedal by effort of 200 - 300 N (20 – 30 kg) during 10 pages. The pedal should not weaken. Check all accessions for tightness.
